Try Praying

At St James the Less we do our best to be open and welcoming to all: regular worshippers, occasional visitors, enquirers and anyone still trying to work out what church can do for them and together with them. For people in the enquiring / seeking / wondering category, one way of getting started, and even more so in these times when personal meetings are not possible, is to Try Praying. For help with this, a free booklet “trypraying”  has been put together by a varied group of people (not from St James). For more information about it see  www.thereishope.co.uk., a small Scottish charity. The booklet can be downloaded (https://www.trypraying.co.uk/try-it/)  and is also available in hard copy form within Penicuik. If you walk (or drive!) Up the Lane (Broomhill Rd) to St James church, you can find copies in a box by the church car park and copies are also available outside Penicuik South Church on the Peebles Road (photos below).
