In the words of our departed rector, we continue to welcome you …
We welcome you if you’re just popping your head round the door, hoping to find a sense of God’s presence or to see what goes on here. If you can’t wait to get involved in the worshipping and social life of this community, we welcome you too.
We welcome you if you love sitting in empty churches, if you love listening to all sorts of live music and if you fear you’ll be struck by lightning should you cross the threshold. (We’ve never seen it happen yet!)
We welcome you if you long to be loved but aren’t sure you’re worth it. We’re working on loving and being loved too.
We welcome you if you have a million questions and can’t wait to strike up a conversation, and we welcome you if you’re hoping to slip in and out quietly without having to speak to anyone.
Through history, the Scottish Episcopal Church has lived through times of persecution and regulation by strict laws, so if you’re not sure of your place in society today, you’re welcome to sit with us.
You’re welcome here when you’re bursting with joy and when you’re barely holding it together. You’re welcome as a babe in arms and doddering on your zimmer-frame. You’re welcome as a university professor and as a person for whom words are meaningless.
Most of all, we welcome you!
